The Velocis team consists of five highly seasoned partners with 140+ years combined experience, who are directly responsible for the aquisition, asset management and disposition of the assets. Fred Hamm

Co-Founder & Managing Partner

Fred Hamm brings more than 30 years of experience in investment consulting, wealth management and commercial real estate to Velocis. At Velocis, Hamm serves on the Investment Committee and as the Fund Manager and is responsible for legal, compliance, administration and investor services. Prior to forming Velocis, Hamm was an executive officer of Keystone Group, responsible for managing clients’ cash, equities and real estate assets. With more than 20 years of experience as a private wealth manager and investment consultant, Hamm has spent the majority of his professional career serving high-net-worth clients and private investors with the goal of conservatively growing portfolios. Hamm earned a BBA in Finance at the University of Texas at Austin and holds an MBA from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.

Mike Lewis

Co-Founder & Partner

Mike Lewis has over 30 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. At Velocis, Lewis serves on the Investment Committee and plays a major role in sourcing deals and unlocking value in various portfolio assets. Prior to Velocis, Lewis served as Managing Director, Management Committee Member and Executive Committee Member at Crescent Real Estate Equities, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Morgan Stanley. At Crescent, Lewis was responsible for over 43 million square feet of office, medical office, retail, residential and hotel assets valued at approximately $6.5 billion in major markets across the country. As Managing Director at Crescent, Lewis and his team disposed of more than $2.0 billion in assets. Lewis earned a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Jim Yoder

Co-Founder & Partner

Jim Yoder has more than 30 years of commercial real estate experience in leasing, asset management, acquisition, disposition, due diligence and market intelligence. At Velocis, Yoder serves on the Investment Committee and is responsible for asset operations and acquisition sourcing. Prior to Velocis, Yoder was a Managing Director at JLL, serving both institutional and private clients. Prior to JLL, Yoder served as a Principal at Trammell Crow Company, where he held various leadership positions directing both the Corporate Advisory Services Division and the Office Buildings Group. Earlier in his career, Yoder was with Tower Realty Management Corporation, a subsidiary of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation. Yoder received a BA in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin.

Paul Smith

Partner

Paul Smith has over 30 years of real estate investment experience working with institutional clients, including roles in acquisitions, dispositions, financing and portfolio management across virtually every product type. At Velocis, Smith serves on the Investment Committee, is the Chief Investment Officer and oversees all acquisition activities. Prior to Velocis, Smith was a Managing Director at Crescent Real Estate Equities, where he oversaw the execution of Morgan Stanley’s investment strategies, including the disposition of over $2.0 billion in assets. Earlier in his career, Smith was with Invesco Real Estate, where he helped structure the firm’s first value-add fund, oversaw various debt financing activities and maintained a number of separate account portfolios. Smith is a graduate of Harvard University and received his MBA from the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business.

David Seifert, CFA

Partner

David Seifert has over 12 years of experience in the real estate investment management industry. During that time, Seifert has completed over $1.7 billion of transaction work in office, medical office and retail assets in numerous markets across the country. At Velocis, Seifert serves on the Investment Committee and is responsible for all capital market and portfolio management activities. Prior to Velocis, Seifert served in the acquisitions group at L&B Realty Advisors, a $9.0 billion institutional investment manager, where he was involved in acquisition and management activities for the firm’s medical fund, value-add fund and separate accounts with some of the nation’s largest public and private employee pension plans. Seifert holds a BS in Mathematics from Washington and Lee University and an MBA with High Honors in Analytic Finance and Economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he received the Outstanding Academic Award for graduating valedictorian of his class.

Matt Weibring

Investor Relations

Matt Weibring manages investor relations and assists the partners with fundraising. Prior to joining Velocis, Weibring played professional golf for 15 years. He was a member of the PGA tour for 3 years and the Web.com Tour for 12 years. Weibring holds a BS in Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology where he earned a golf scholarship and was a 2x All-American. He is currently pursuing his CCIM designation.

Bob Kruzel

Director of Asset Management

Bob Kruzel is the director of asset management at Velocis, where he is responsible for managing real estate assets. Prior to joining Velocis, Kruzel was the senior vice president of operations at RM Crowe. In this position, he oversaw operations for a portfolio of commercial, retail and medical properties and served as the point person on the disposition of a $210 million portfolio. Previously, Kruzel was the director of asset management and leasing analysis at Crescent Real Estate Equities, developing leasing assumptions and budgets and overseeing a leasing team for a large portfolio of assets. Kruzel earned a BA from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and holds an MBA from Texas Christian University’s Neeley School of Business.

Daniel Plumlee

Associate

Daniel Plumlee is an associate at Velocis, where he is involved in the acquisition and disposition of fund assets. Plumlee’s duties include acquisition sourcing, financial analysis, financing procurement, and managing the due diligence and closing processes. Prior to joining Velocis, Plumlee served as Vice President of Acquisitions for Lincoln Property Company’s Commercial Mid-Atlantic Region, based in Washington, D.C. There, he was responsible for sourcing deals in all commercial product types and overseeing the acquisition process to closing. In addition to his acquisitions role, Plumlee also served on a third-party asset management team responsible for advising one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds with respect to their regional real estate investments. Plumlee is a graduate of the University of Virginia.

Travis Gallivan

Associate

Travis Gallivan is an associate at Velocis, where he is involved in the asset management of the firm’s real estate investments. Prior to joining Velocis, Gallivan served as a senior associate with Peloton Commercial Real Estate in Dallas, Texas, where he completed over 1.9 million square feet of lease transactions on behalf of local and institutional Landlords. Gallivan has earned his CCIM designation and is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.

Tad Brittingham

Analyst

Tad Brittingham is an analyst at Velocis where he is responsible for supporting management in the processes of underwriting and analyzing potential real estate investments. Though his focus is primarily on acquisitions, Brittingham also plays a role in dispositions, asset management, and portfolio management. Prior to joining Velocis, Brittingham worked in the retail and industrial real estate sectors in Dallas and Nashville, respectively. Brittingham earned his BA from the University of Texas at Austin and holds an MS in Finance from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management, where he focused his studies on commercial real estate. He is currently pursuing his CCIM designation and is a member of the Urban Land Institute.

Carla Neal

Director of Office Operations

As the director of office operations for Velocis, Carla Neal is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Velocis office. Neal has an extensive background in office management, including experience in electronic banking, vendor management, investor relations, event planning, and travel. She is professionally trained in Microsoft Office and holds a certified shorthand reporter license. Neal holds a BA in Communication from Texas A&M University.
